A year ago I stumbled upon a blog post by VeloCult about Victor Vincente of America while looking for old copies of the “Topanga Riders Bulletin”. I had recently moved to Topanga Canyon and wanted to learn more about the history of Mountain Biking in my new home town, so I wrote to V.V.A. and he turned me on to his website. Needless to say, I was blown away by the things I found. Just a few of his accomplishments include being a two time Olympic Cyclist, setting the record for riding “coast to coast to coast”, designing the 1996 Olympic Mountain Bike Medals, as well as being one of the founding fathers of both Mountain Biking and Ultra Endurance Racing. To learn more about V.V.A. you can view his timeline here. More Images here. Words by Sean T.
